Q. What has happened so far?
The first and second stages of Fast Forward are now complete. In stage 1 we asked you to help us identify what significant resource management issues were facing Hamilton. Public comments closed for Stage 1 on 28 February 2010.
On 1 September 2010 the public documents for Stage 2 were released. The documents formed the next steps in Council's review of the District Plan and outlined a range of options that could make sure Hamilton's growth is smart.
The summary document - Snapshot – was circulated in August 2010. Copies of Snapshot and the full report and discussion document - Big Picture, are available to download in this website's library. All Hamilton residents and businesses were encouraged to have their say by taking part in the quick surveys or forums on this website. Public comments closed for Stage 2 on 29 October 2010.
Stage 3 is well underway with working in drafting the Way Forward discussion document.
Q. What is happening now?
Preliminary consultation with landowners for the Ruakura Structure Plan takes place on the 5th and 6th of December 2011. This gives landowners the opportunity to learn more about what is planned as part of Fast Forward. It will also allow an opportunity for them to give us any feedback which we will take into consideration.
